Academic Support Unit Committee

The ASU committee is charged with guiding and monitoring the Review & Renewal program and processes. It's members represent the more than 50 academic support units and the faculty senate. The committee reviews the results of internal assessments conducted by academic support unit teams along with their unit’s improvement plans.  The Committee also reviews and certifies results of external assessments generated by unit peer professional teams as well as assessments from stakeholder/customer groups. The committee selects yearly Cohorts of 8 to 10 academic support units for review and renewal, and hosts Cohort meetings focused on reviews of unit assessments, plans, and renewal results.

Academic Support Units

Academic Support Units are administrative and co-curricular units that provide services and support to the University.

Team Leaders

Generally, Review & Renewal team leaders are unit managers or directors.  They are responsible for selecting team members, leading team activities and ensuring the development of accurate unit assessments and proactive improvement plans

External Reviewers

External reviewers are professional peers of Ohio University’s academic support units from other institutions who are engaged to provide objective assessments of OHIO’s academic support units.

Deans and/or Vice Presidents

Deans and/or Vice Presidents are responsible for operational oversight and strategic leadership for the ASURR program and processes.

Leadership & Staff Development (Human Resources)

Leadership & Staff Development provide consultation to team leaders, facilitate the internal assessment, and provide support with strategic planning (goal setting) and improvement.

Institutional Research

Institutional Research provides: available assessment data; assistance in cases where additional data is needed; guidance in developing measures and performance indicators; and necessary administrative support when needed.
