Promotion and Tenure Guidelines
What Dean's Offices should submit to the EVP-Provost's Office
Once promotion and tenure dossiers have been reviewed by the dean, select portions of the dossier are to be forwarded to the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost.
These documents are to be submitted without plastic sheet protectors or other extemporaneous materials. All staples are to be removed and the whole fastened with a binder clip or other simple fastener.
It takes time and effort to remove pages from sheet protectors, remove staples, etc., so it is very helpful if the promotion and tenure documents arrive ready for review. This will speed up the EVP-Provost's and President's evaluation process considerably.
The promotion and tenure documents to be forwarded to the EVP-Provost's Office are as follows and should be submitted in the order indicated.
- Review Form for Promotion and/or Tenure (Signature Sheet)
- College Dean Letter
- College P&T Committee Letter
- Chair/Director Letter
- Department/School P&T Committee Letter
- Copy of the original letter of offer
- Chair/Director's annual evaluation letters and any P&T progress letters

- Statement regarding outside reviewers:
- Why they were chosen
- How they were contacted
- What they were sent to review
