    About Groups

AFROTC presents cadets with opportunities to expand their experience and participation levels through the support and affiliation of cadet and student operated groups. These groups include Honor Guard, Arnold Air Society, and the Booster Club. For more information regarding any of the above mentioned groups please email Detachment 650.

    Honor Guard

The Honor Guard is a select group of Cadets who have chosen to learn and perfect the ceremonial presentation of our nation's colors. Modeled after the United States Air Force Honor Guard, our Honor Guard has proudly represented our country, Air Force ROTC, and Ohio University at parades, athletic events, and other special ceremonies throughout the school year.
In the past we have been called upon to provide a detail of cadets to present the colors for all Ohio University sporting events, along with any other special services the President of the University requests us to perform at. We have also worked with many civic organizations in the Athens area and professional sports teams such as the Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Browns.

    Arnold Air Society

Habitat 4 HumanityArnold Air Society is a service organization within the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps program.  Since the founding of this squadron in 1950, members have served thousands of hours in the community and on campus.  This relationship has helped not only the surrounding area, but also to develop effective leadership skills in the participating cadets.

    Booster Club

AFROTC Booster ClubBooster club is a non-ROTC affiliated organization that raises money through various fundraisers for use by cadets in AFROTC Detachment 650. Booster club provides all of the funding necessary to carry out all training, formal events, and other activities planned and executed by cadets in Det 650. Some of the activities that we have done or are in the process of doing this year include stadium setup, teardown, ushering for home football games, working an entire weekend at Cedar Point, and t-shirt sales just to name a few. There are only two positions in booster club, the booster club president (who is appointed by the previous booster club president) and the vice president (who is appointed by the current president). The booster club president and vice president are responsible for setting up and coordinating fundraising events. However, the majority of volunteer work for booster club comes from cadets within AFROTC Detachment 650.
