HOW TO REGISTER FOR COURSES REGISTRATION (Athens Campus) Each quarter you will receive a letter from University College informing you of the date you can begin registration for classes through the Web, as well as the deadline for registration. After the deadline, your registration access will be blocked. Changes to your schedule after the deadline will be possible only by completion and approval of a PSEOP Add/Drop Petition, which you must obtain at University College, 140 Chubb Hall. Your high school guidance counselor must first approve this petition before it is presented for approval to the PSEOP Coordinator at University College. Before your registration date visit University College Office in 140 Chubb Hall to pick up your RAC (registration access code) and a copy of your DARS. No one can give you your RAC over the phone you will have to come to the office with your ID to receive your RAC. The Schedule of Classes is available online at http://www.ohio.edu/registrar/. REGISTRATION (Regional Campuses) Each quarter you will receive a letter from your campus PSEOP Coordinator informing you of the date you can make an appointment to register for classes. You will not be permitted to register for classes through the Web. WHAT IF A COURSE I WANT IS FULL? If a course for which you want to register is full, you may contact the instructor of the course or the department to obtain a permission (pink) slip to register. If you obtain a permission slip for a class, you must take the slip to the Registration Windows in Chubb Hall during the registration period to officially add the class to your schedule. YOUR FEES FEE PAYMENT (Option B) Your fees will be paid indirectly by your local school district. This includes tuition, general fees, and books. Expenses incurred for specific courses (lab fees) are the responsibility of the individual student and will not be covered by PSEOP. Also, fees for parking, identification cards, printing costs, etc. are not covered by PSEOP. Full fees are assessed for all courses for which you register. Therefore, it is important that you note: According to the Ohio Department of Education guidelines, school districts may elect, through board policy, to recover from the student/parent all costs incurred by the district when and if a student fails to complete a college course, whether through formal “class drop” process or nonattendance other than for reasons generally accepted by the school district. FEE PAYMENT (Option A) Option A students are responsible for all regular tuition and fees and must purchase their own textbooks and supplies. You will receive a bill each quarter that you enroll, and must pay the bill by the established deadlines.

HOW TO BUY TEXT BOOKS TEXT BOOKS (Athens Campus) Approximately one week after the registration deadline has passed, you will receive a “PSEOP Option B Textbook Authorization Form” and the copy of your schedule in the mail. Take your OU ID, schedule, and Textbook Authorization Form to the Textbook Information Desk at the College Bookstore. The College Bookstore staff will loan you the required textbooks for your classes. You have the option to purchase, at your own expense, any books that are recommended, not required, for the course. You must return the textbooks to the College Bookstore by the university’s quarter closing date for each quarter. If you are using the same textbook for a course sequence the following quarter, you must ask the staff member in the Textbook Department at the College Bookstore to extend your loan period for another quarter. If you fail to return the textbooks by the quarter closing date you will be responsible for the full price of any textbooks not returned on time. Furthermore your registration for the following quarter will be canceled, and you will not be able to continue in the PSEO program until all fees are paid. TEXT BOOKS (Regional Campuses) Each branch campus has specific policies and procedures for acquiring your books. You should contact the PSEOP Coordinator in the Student Services Office on your campus.

GPA REQUIREMENTS To remain in good academic standing with Ohio University, you must maintain an accumulative grade point average of at least 2.00. To continue as an Option B student you must also maintain a minimum 2.00 GPA. A copy of your grades will be sent to your high school each quarter. Your high school may calculate your Ohio University grades with your high school grade point average. Check with your high school guidance counselor for information about how your grades will be calculated. Grades earned at Ohio University become part of your academic record and will need to be reported if/when you apply for admission to other academic institutions. GRADE OF INCOMPLETE If you receive an incomplete grade (I) for a course, you will not be permitted to continue in the PSEO program until the incomplete is satisfied. A student has until the fourth week of the next quarter to complete the course work. If at that time the course work is not completed the incomplete will change to a grade of F. If this causes the student’s GPA to fall below the required 2.00 to continue in Option B the student will be dropped from that program. [top of page]
