Women in Philanthropy Internship Scholarship Highlights Talented OHIO Students
In its second year, the Women in Philanthropy Internship Scholarship will again help fund the summer internship experiences of two motivated Ohio University students. The $1,000 scholarships help to cover travel and living expenses and are offered through collaboration between WIP and the Ohio University Career and Leadership Development Center.
The scholarship was open to all Ohio University Undergraduate students in good academic standing who had secured summer internships, with preference given to students who will be completing unpaid internships. The WIP Internship Scholarship Committee, comprised of Chair Linda Clark, Megan Kuhn, Kristine Hoke, Dorothy Schey and Golden Fanning, carefully selected the recipients from a group of exceptional applicants.
This year's scholarship recipients are Lindsey Bork, a Junior Community Health Services major who will be completing an internship with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, and Renée Hagerty, a Junior Honors Tutorial College Political Science major who will be completing an internship with the Ohio Board of Regents in Columbus. Lindsey and Renée both impressed the committee with their well-written application essays and their passion for their fields. They will be invited to attend a WIP meeting in the fall to report on their summer internship experiences, so be sure to check back on our WIP website and future newsletters for more details!
