Howard R. Lipman is the vice president for University Advancement at Ohio University and president and chief executive officer of The Ohio University Foundation. His tenure at Ohio University began August 1, 2006.

Lipman had served as vice president for University Advancement at Florida International University and executive director of the Florida International University Foundation since 2002.

As vice president for University Advancement at Ohio University and president and CEO of The Ohio University Foundation, he is responsible for the areas of development, alumni relations and The Foundation. The Foundation is an institutionally related, nonprofit, tax exempt, 501(c)(3) organization, which manages the university’s $240 million endowment and is the repository for all private gifts to Ohio University.

Lipman served as CEO of the American Red Cross of Greater Miami and the Keys from 1998 to 2002. He also held development and executive positions with the Zoological Society of Florida, Oakwood Healthcare System Foundation and the University of Miami’s School of Medicine. Lipman has a bachelor’s degree in political science from East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C.

Lipman has been professionally affiliated with the Miami-Dade County economic development partnership in Florida, the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), the Association of Fundraising professionals (AFP), the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), the Coral Gables Community Foundation, Rotary, the Beacon Experience, and the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.
