Ohio University Undergraduate Admissions is pleased to host campus visits geared toward groups of college-bound students. Group visits are a great way for a large volume of students to visit the campus at once.
Requirements
Due to the high number of visitors to the Ohio University campus, groups planning to visit should follow these guidelines:
- Reservations should be made at least six weeks in advance.
- Students should be in grades 8-12.
- Groups must provide at least one chaperone for every 10 students visiting the campus.
- Maximum group size is 40 students plus chaperones.
Undergraduate Admissions can accommodate group visits once a day, Monday through Friday. Group visits are not offered on weekends. Our group visit offers this agenda:
- Ohio University Information Session
Our one-hour information sessions are led by an experienced Undergraduate Admissions staff member. Your group will learn about the university's admissions criteria, majors offered, financial aid, campus housing, and student life. Please note that if you would like your group to meet with a specific academic department, those arrangements would need to be made directly with the appropriate departmental contact.
- Walking tour of Campus
Led by an Ohio University student tour guide, the one-hour walking tour of campus takes visitors in and around some of the most popular locations on campus, including the Ping Recreation center, a residence hall showroom, classroom space and the historic College Green. The tour requires extensive walking, so students are encouraged to dress comfortably and to prepare in advance for seasonal weather conditions. Meet our tour guides!

Optional Dining Hall Meals
Having lunch in the dining hall is a favorite part of any campus visit! Dining hall meals are "all you can eat" and include a wide variety of dishes. Please plan to arrive early, as groups can be accommodated only between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM on weekdays.
Lunch is $7.50 plus tax, per person. Students may pay for their lunches individually, or chaperones may pay the total for all students by check. Checks should be made out to Ohio University Dining Services. Please note that money orders and credit cards are not accepted. Your group may also choose to bring bag lunches to eat around campus, or you may eat lunch on your own in the Uptown area. There your group will find a variety of restaurants, ranging from fast food to fine dining.
