OhioLINK Executive Director Tom Sanville will speak about electronic theses and dissertations at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, in the Friends of the Library Room on the third floor of Ohio University's Alden Library.
OhioLINK, the consortium of Ohio's college and university libraries, will play an important role in the state's network of electronic theses and dissertations. Sanville will report on the development of a statewide system and answer questions about how the project affects Ohio University's graduate students and faculty.
Sanville's talk is open to the university community and was arranged by a university committee chaired by Doug Lawrence, associate professor of electrical engineering and computer science, and Julia Zimmerman, dean of University Libraries. The committee is preparing a report outlining the advantages and disadvantages of electronic theses and dissertations.
