Ohio University's Supplemental Instruction (SI) program has been selected as the Outstanding Supplemental Instruction program by the Center of Academic Development at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. The award consists of a plaque and a $500 stipend.
The award is based on program quality as recognized by peers and campus administrators, quality service to students, and demonstrated effectiveness through achievement of objective criteria. It was established this year in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the founding of SI.
Former program coordinator Margaret A. Romoser and current coordinator Laura Schaeffer will receive the award at the National SI conference May 20-23 in Kansas City. Romoser served as coordinator from 1993 until 1998.
The Supplemental Instruction program at Ohio University serves 4,000 students each year in introductory courses. For more information about the program, please visit their Web site.
