Ohio University sophomore Beth Mazur completed the 1999 CVS Cleveland Marathon on Sunday, May 2nd. In her first marathon attempt, she placed 3rd overall in her division of female runners (age 20-24) and 37th overall of all female runners. She completed the race in 3:28:09, a pace of 7:56 a mile.
The CVS Cleveland Marathon and 10K is an annual event which draws athletes from all over the world. The first place finisher was Vladimir Epanov from Russia with a time of 2:12:22. The female first place finisher was Firaya Sultanova Zhdanova from Russia, who completed the race in 2:32:38.
