Athens, Ohio -- Ohio University College of Education's Center for the Study and Development of Literacy and Language is sponsoring a spring literacy forum on the topic of selecting award winning picture books for children. The forum is being held Monday, May 17, 199 from 4-5:30 p.m. in Clippinger 194 and is free and open to the public. Barbara Bostow, this year's committee chair for the 1999 Caldecott Award Committee, along with committee member Rudine Bishop Simms of Ohio State University will talk about the book selection process and the distinctive qualities of the 1999 award winners.
