 BOBCAT FOOTBALL TICKETS ON SALE AT ATHLETICS TICKET OFFICE

ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio University Athletics ticket office has announced that season tickets are currently on sale and fans hoping to see the Bobcats in action should get their seats now. With a home schedule that includes games against Northern Iowa (Sept. 11), Buffalo (Sept. 25), Kent (Oct. 2), Bowling Green (Oct. 23, Homecoming) and Miami (Oct. 13), tickets figure to sell quickly.

"Great seats are still available for the 1999 season," Ohio Director of Ticket Operations Doug Knuth said. "Since all seats are reserved, fans should order their seats early so that the location is better."

Ohio opens the season up at Minnesota (Sept. 4), then plays at Ohio State (Sept. 18), Akron (Oct. 9), Eastern Michigan (Oct. 16), Ball State (Oct. 30) and Marshall (Nov. 20) to close the regular season.

The Bobcats' road schedule is highlighted by the Sept. 18 date with 1998 Big Ten Co-Champion OSU in Columbus. It will the first meeting between the schools since 1902. Ohio University season ticket holders will have the first chance to purchase two of the 5,700 tickets allotted to Ohio for the OSU game.

Since OSU tickets will be sold on a priority basis, Ohio Tower Club members will have the first opportunity to buy them, followed by donors to the Ohio Athletics Department, followed by Ohio season ticket holders if any tickets remain. Season ticket holders will have to enter a lottery for OSU tickets by June 1, 1999. Lottery winners will be eligible to buy a maximum of two tickets.

Ohio University students will have an opportunity to buy 1,800 OSU tickets and they will be sold on a first come, first served basis beginning on Sunday, Sept. 12 at noon at The Athletics Ticket Office inside The Convo. Students must present a valid Ohio ID to purchase a maximum of two tickets.

The Athletics Department divided the 5,700 tickets into three different areas. Season ticket holders will get 45.3 percent (2,580), Ohio students will get 31.6 percent (1,800) and 23.1 percent (1,320) will go to selected university departments for university advancement opportunities.

Ohio home game tickets are priced as follows:

  • Season Ticket -- $45
  • Ohio University Faculty/Staff Season Ticket -- $40.
  • Single Game Tickets:
    • Northern Iowa, Buffalo, Kent -- $10
    • Bowling Green, Miami -- $12.
