Former First Lady Marion Alden
Dies
Marion
Parson Alden, former Ohio University First
Lady, died Thursday, August 26, after a

years old.

University's 15th president from 1962-69.
During that time, she became nationally
known and was featured in articles
published in Time and Life

University;
the Southeast Asia Collection in the
Vernon
R. Alden

Visiting Artists at Ohio Wesleyan
University. Marion and her husband
established an endowed chair for the cello
at the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
There
will be a private interment on Martha's
Vineyard. A memorial service will be held
at the Church of the Redeemer in Chestnut
Hill, Massachusetts at 10:30 a.m. on
