New Cutler Scholar Introduced

A new Cutler Scholar was introduced today. Katherine Hinman of Rocky River is the recipient of the 1999-2000 Lizabeth and Charles R. Emrick, Jr.-Manasseh Cutler Scholars Award. Hinman is one of 21 Cutler Scholars who will begin study on Ohio University's Athens campus this fall.

Each award provides full tuition and room and board, plus a stipend to cover structured summer internships and study or work abroad for four years.

Hinman is a senior from Rocky River High School. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Principal's Advisory Committee and Key Club, co-president of the senior class, and contributing writer for the school newspaper.

The Cutler Scholars program is modeled after the Rhodes Scholar program originated by Oxford University. Students selected for this program must demonstrate high scholastic ability, personal integrity, a breadth of involvement and achievement, and physical stamina, as well as the ability to lead and encourage others.
