Ohio University Athletic Director's Contract Extended to 2004

Ohio University Intercollegiate Athletics Director Tom Boeh has agreed to extend his contract through June 30, 2004. Boeh begins the first year of the five-year contract in July.

President Robert Glidden said Boeh's outstanding leadership and performance are among the reasons for the four-year contract extension.

Boeh came to Ohio University July 1, 1995, from Northwestern University where he was associate director of athletics for external affairs. He oversees an annual budget of more than $9 million.

During Boeh's tenure:

  • Ohio is ranked 17th among the nation's Division I-A schools and seventh among I-A public institutions for student-athlete graduation rates.
  • From 1995 to 1998 Ohio ranked second in winning percentage for all sports in the Mid-American Conference.
  • Three new women's sport programs -- golf, soccer and lacrosse -- have been added.
