University Athletic Director's Contract
Extended to 2004
Ohio
University Intercollegiate
Athletics
Director Tom Boeh has agreed to extend his
contract through June 30, 2004. Boeh
begins the first year of the five-year
contract in July.
President
Robert Glidden said Boeh's outstanding
leadership and performance are among the
reasons for the four-year contract
extension.
Boeh
came to Ohio University July 1, 1995, from
Northwestern University where he was
associate director of athletics for
external affairs. He oversees an annual
budget of more than $9 million.
During
Boeh's tenure:
- Ohio
is ranked 17th among the nation's
Division I-A schools and seventh among
I-A public institutions for
student-athlete graduation
rates.
- From
1995 to 1998 Ohio ranked second in
winning percentage for all sports in
the Mid-American
Conference.
- Three
new women's sport programs --
golf,
soccer
and lacrosse
-- have been added.
