Cutler Scholar from Meigs High
School
Jessica
R. Johnson of Middleport is the recipient
of the 1999-2000 Dr. James H. and Nellie
Rowley Jewell-Manasseh Cutler
Scholars
Award. Johnson is one of 21 Cutler
Scholars who will begin study on Ohio
University's Athens campus this fall.
Each
award provides full tuition and room and
board, plus a stipend to cover structured
summer internships and study or work
abroad for four years.
Johnson
is a senior from Meigs High School in
Pomeroy. She is a member of the National
Honor Society, plays with the marching and
concert bands, and earned varsity letters
in cross country and track. She also spent
her senior year as a post-secondary
options student at Rio Grande
University.
Cutler
Scholars can enroll in any degree program
and receive annual stipends to support
four years of study, including summer
programs. Individual students cannot apply
for the Cutler Scholars program. Potential
Cutler Scholars are nominated by personnel
at eligible secondary schools, or by
members of active Ohio University alumni
chapters.
