Ping
Becomes Muskingum Trustee
Charles J. Ping has joined the board of trustees of Muskingum
College in New Concord. He is president emeritus and trustee
professor at Ohio University.
Ping has taught philosophy on several campuses, was dean of a
liberal arts college, and served as provost of a state university
before coming to Ohio University as president. He is now chairman of
the board of directors of the Council on International Educational
Exchange and is a member of the board of the David C. Lam Institute
for East-West Studies, while serving on the Fulbright Scholars
Board.

- Free movie tonight at 7:30 in Scripps Auditorium: "Mi
Familia" (My Family) starring Jennifer Lopez, Edward James Olmos,
Jimmy Smits, and Esai Morales. The screening is in honor of Cinco
de Mayo, sponsored by Alpha Psi Lambda, and all are invited.
- Weekly Sports Update: Baseball -- Ohio broke a
seven-game losing streak this weekend with four wins over
Marshall. Over the weekend, Ohio won 11-6 and 10-5 at Huntington
and won 5-4 and 5-1 at Athens. Ohio lost two games to Toledo on
Wednesday at Athens. Softball -- The Bobcats split two
games at Akron on Friday, and lost two games at Kent on Saturday.
Men's Golf -- Ohio finished tied for second out of 18 teams
at the Rutherford Intercollegiate at Penn State over the weekend.
Women's Lacrosse -- Ohio lost to Gannon in the last game of
its first season of play since 1983. Outdoor Track and Field
-- The women finished fourth at the Akron Quadrangular meet.

- The 26th annual Athens International Film and Video
festival is now underway. The festival program, with complete
schedules of screenings, is currently available at local
businesses and at Baker Center. For more information, contact the
