Workshop Examines New Prospective Payment
System
"Survival:
The First 150 Days of Prospective Payment
System" will be the topic of a spring 1999
Geriatric Education Series workshop,
Wednesday, June 2, sponsored by Ohio
University College
of Osteopathic
Medicine
(OU-COM). Katherine Will, Ph.D., L.N.H.A.,
assistant professor, OU school of health
sciences and director of the Long-Term
Care Administration Program; David L.
Scheffler, C.P.A., partner, Plante &
Moran, LLP; Linda S. Bach, R.N., clinical
consultant, Plante & Moran, LLP; and
Linda L. Clark, billing consultant, Plante
& Moran, LLP, will discuss the topic
at Shannon Hall, Rm. 218, OU St.
Clairsville campus, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30
p.m. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. The
workshop fee is $50 and after May 28,
$60.
The
workshop will review current status and
recent developments
of
the
prospective payment system; outline
clinical MDS 2.0 implications with the new
system; and discuss billing considerations
experienced with the new system and how to
utilize financial and clinical data to
enhance marketing efforts.
