Sanderson Transfers to
Ohio Basketball

University head basketball
coach Larry Hunter announced today that
forward Jon Sanderson has signed a
letter-of-intent to join the Ohio program
next season. Earlier this month, the 6-7,
230-pound sophomore announced that he was
leaving Ohio State after two
seasons.
He
started 58 of 65 games in his career and
averaged 7.1 points and 4.4 rebounds. In
Big Ten play, he averaged 7.6 points and
4.3 rebounds in 32 games. Last season,
Sanderson started 30 of 35 games and
averaged 5.4 points and 3.4 rebounds in
17.2 minutes per game.
Sanderson,
a Lexington, Ohio, native, will have two
seasons of eligibility starting in the
2000-2001 season. Next season at Ohio, he
will be joined by high school teammate
Adam Howell, a senior guard at Lexington
(Ohio) High School who signed with the
Bobcats in the fall early signing
period.
