Today's Events:

  • The Telecommunications Center will hold its Community Advisory Council meeting today at 1:30 p.m. in the Radio-Television Building. The meeting is open to members and the general public.

  • The Chamber Choirs, featuring organist Paul Barte and director Peter Jarjisian, will perform today at 8 p.m. at Galbreath Chapel.

  • A Pan Africanism Debate will be held tonight at 7 p.m. in the Friends of the Library Room. The event is part of Caribbean Week.

NEW UNIVERSITY TRUSTEES APPOINTED

C. David Snyder and Deland D. Basora have been appointed to the Ohio University Board of Trustees. The appointments were announced by Governor Bob Taft on Friday, May 14.

Snyder, currently the chairman and chief executive officer of Crooked River Brewing Co. and president of Quest Investments, will replace Paul Leonard. He graduated cum laude from Ohio University. Snyder is a member of the university's Executive Advisory Board and Foundation Board, and is a trustee of the Great Lakes Science Center.

Basora will be replacing student trustee Erik Roush. He is a sophomore marketing major with a minor in interpersonal communications. Basora is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta honorary and Beta Theta Pi and is the recipient of a Dean's List scholarship.
