First-Ever MAC Award

Today's Events:

 

  • Ohio University College of Education's Center for the Study and Development of Literacy and Language is sponsoring a spring literary forum on selecting picture books for children. The event will take place today from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. in Clippinger 194 and is free and open to the public.

  • Bruno Trezzini of the University of Zurich will speak on "State, Legitimacy and Development: Understanding the Malaysian Puzzle," today from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in Alden Library Friends of the Library Room.

  • Lorenzo Komboa Ervin, Black Panther and Anarchist, will talk about his work on prison reform internationally and his experience as a prisoner. Morton Hall room 201 at 6 p.m. Part of "Raze the Walls."

ATHENS, Ohio -- Ohio University President Robert Glidden will hold a news conference at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday May 18 in front of Cutler Hall. He will discuss a cutting-edge innovation in information technology and learning. Glidden will speak about the new initiative and take questions from the media.

News Directors, Editors: A satellite feed of the 12:30 p.m. news conference will be available at KU Band, Telstar 5k-03 lower, downlink 11778 MHz (v). The feed will be broadcast from 3 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Anyone experiencing trouble downloading the feed can call 740-593-4989. Six to be Inducted Into
Gifted Education Hall of Fame

Six new inductees will be added to the Ohio University College of Education Gifted Education Hall of Fame. The induction ceremonies will take place at a banquet at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18th at the Athens Country Club, Route #56 West. James Heap, dean of the College of Education, will be the keynote speaker at the banquet. His topic for the evening will be "Challenges in Education."
