Today's Events:

  • The Spring Literary Festival comes to a close with lectures by Anne Carson (noon), and Vivian Gornick (1 p.m.), and readings by Ann Beattie (7:30 p.m.), and Mark Strand (8:30 p.m.). All events are in Irvine Auditorium and are free and open to the public.

  • "Interpreting Growth and Development of Metasequoia-like Fossil Seedlings," will be addressed by Amy Falder at 4 p.m. in 104 Porter Hall.The speech is part of the Spring Speakers Program of the Department of Environmental and Plant Biology. Admission is free.

  • The School of Theater presents "Macbeth": 8 p.m. at the Forum Theater. Through Saturday (including one matinee). For tickets, call 593-4800.

Ohio Football Receives First-Ever MAC Sportsmanship Award

The Mid-American Conference has announced that the Ohio University football program has received the first annual MAC Sportsmanship Award for Football. The award is given to the MAC team that shows the most sportsmanship throughout its season in the six mandated sports (football, volleyball, men's and women's basketball, baseball, softball).

Each team's sportsmanship is rated after every MAC competition by MAC officials/referees/umpires on a scale of 1-5. The two areas judged are on-field decorum and bench decorum.
