Today's Events:

  • The Ohio University NAACP presents Jehvon Buckner, CEO and Publisher of the National Publication "Da Ghetto Tymz and DGT Online. He will speak on "Strengthening and Empowering African Consciousness Worldwide" today at 7 p.m. in Lindley Cultural Center Multipurpose room.

  • The Spring Literary Festival kicks off today with readings by poet Anne Carson at 7:30, and author of "Independence Day" Richard Ford at 8:30 in Irvine Auditorium.

  • Sakiho Eimoto, Koto Player and Composer from Nagoya, Japan, will perform today at 8 p.m. in the Music Recital Hall. The event is part of International Week.

Three Named as Outstanding Administrators

Three administrators were honored for distinguished service to Ohio University during a ceremony Monday where they were presented with the 1998-99 Outstanding Administrator Awards.

This year's recipients are Lora Munsell, director of degree programs at University College; Dave Puzzuoli, director of the Office of Professional and Corporate Services on the Eastern Campus; and Ralph Six, maintenance supply buyer. Each will receive $1,000 for professional interests.

There were 37 nominees for the awards sponsored by the university's Administrative Senate. The Senate also commended 100 administrators for service, ranging from10 to 30 years, and recognized eight others on their retirement.
