Tops in Ohio For Graduating Football Players
The National Collegiate Athletic Association has ranked Ohio
University No. 10 in the nation and tops in Ohio in its annual
graduation rankings for football
players graduating from colleges and universities.
The NCAA ranked Division I-A schools nationwide. Ohio's graduation
rate of 76 percent was followed by Bowling Green State University at
70 percent (16th nationwide), Miami University at 64 percent (22nd),
Toledo at 59 percent (35th), Cincinnati at 48 percent (59th), Ohio
State University at 41 percent (80th) and University of Akron at 25
percent (107th).

- Ohio Sports Update: Baseball
(10-12, 1-1) -- Ohio went 3-1 with single game wins over Ohio
Wesleyan and Youngstown State during the week and followed that up
with by splitting a doubleheader at Western Michigan on Saturday.
Softball
(11-19, 4-0) -- The Bobcats won all four MAC games over the
weekend. Men's
Golf -- Ohio had its best finish of the year at the University
of Kentucky Johnny Owens Invitational last weekend. Ohio finished
third with an 890 score. Women's
Golf -- Ohio finished third at the Eastern Kentucky Lady
Colonel Classic last weekend. Outdoor
Track and Field (men 0-1, women 0-1) -- The Ohio women's team
won the McDonald's Invitational on Saturday with 187 points. The
Ohio men finished fourth with 75.5 points. Read

- Free childhood immunizations will be offered by the
mobile health unit of the Ohio
University College of Osteopathic Medicine according to the
following schedule: April 15, from 3 to 5 p.m., McDonald's on East
State Street in Athens; April 20, form 3 to 5 p.m., Ramada Inn in
Nelsonville; and April 30, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Mac-N-Bec's in
Albany. Free immunizations also will be provided at area
kindergarten registrations as follows: Athens East Elementary,
April 12, from 8 a.m. to noon; Athens West, April 12, from 1 to 5
p.m.; Nelsonville-York, April 16, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Morrison,
April 19, 8 to 11 a.m.; Chauncey, April 19, from 12:45 to 5 p.m.;
Trimble, April 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; The Plains, April 26, 8
a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; and Coolville, April 28, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For
