Weinberg
to Speak at Costa Lecture
The Ohio University History
Department will host its annual Costa Lecture with guest lecturer
Gerhard Weinberg speaking on "World War II in Postwar Politics" in
Room 194 of Irvine Hall at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 22.
The William Rand Kenan Jr. Professor of History at the University
of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Weinberg is an authority on the
history of World War II-era Germany and has worked on several war
documentation projects. Awards for his books include the George Louis
Beer Prize, the Halverson Prize of the German Studies Association,
the Distinguished Book Award of the Society for Military History and
the 1994 Herbert Hoover Book Award. Weinberg has served as vice
president for research of the American Historical Association, as a
consultant to the committee on war documents of the American
Historical Association and as president of the World War II Studies
Association.

Registration is at 8:30 a.m. The workshop fee is $40.
- Free childhood immunizations will be offered by the
mobile health unit of the Ohio
University College of Osteopathic Medicine according to the
following schedule: April 30, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Mac-N-Bec's
in Albany. Free immunizations also will be provided at area
kindergarten registrations as follows: Morrison,today, 8 to 11
a.m.; today, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; The Plains, April 26, 8 a.m.
to 1:30 p.m.; and Coolville, April 28, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more

- Hookfin signs with Atlanta. Ohio University tailback
Steveland Hookfin (Arkadelphia, Ark.) reached an agreement to sign
as a free agent with the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday evening.
