OHIO FOOTBALL SIGNS 21 IN 2000 RECRUITING CLASS

ATHENS, Ohio -- Ohio football coach Jim Grobe announced on February 2 that 21 student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent to join the Bobcat football team in 2000.

This year's class includes 12 recruits from Ohio, three from Pennsylvania, two from Illinois and one each from Kentucky, North Carolina, Georgia and Florida.

Ohio head coach Jim Grobe expressed his pleasure with this year's class. "I'm very pleased with this class because it fills our needs. We got a lot of good players with great character. We needed helped in the offensive line and we definitely got that. We were thin at the linebacker position and we signed four good ones. We were able to spread out the rest of the class pretty well. We got some help in the secondary and added another quarterback. We were really fortunate to add speed to our team at the skill positions. I'm really excited about this group of kids."
