OhioLEARNS! Online Course Catalog Debuts
December 15
December
15th marks the opening of the online
course catalog of the Ohio Learning
Network, OhioLEARNS!
The
Ohio Learning Network (OLN) is a
consortium of Ohio's public and
independent colleges and universities
whose primary goal is to increase Ohioans'
access to education. The OLN is working to
expand distance learning opportunities by
enhancing the capacity and effectiveness
of colleges and universities to use
technology in instruction and research. In
addition, the network will facilitate
partnerships among higher education
institutions and collaborations between
higher education and public schools,
business, industry, and local
communities.
As
part of this mission, the OhioLEARNS!
catalog is designed to provide students
with convenience, choice, and ease in
upgrading job skills, exploring areas of
personal growth, or reaching the goal of
completing a college degree. For the
December 15th debut, OhioLEARNS! will list
300 courses offered via distance learning
from Ohio's public and private colleges
and universities, with more to be added
later. Some courses are World Wide
Web-based and others have on-campus
requirements.
