Happy New Year!

Ohio University will be closed Friday, December 31 in observance of the national New Year's Day holiday. Because January 1 is a Saturday this year, the university will be closed on December 31.

The closure includes all regional campuses, as well as the College of Osteopathic Medicine and all branches of the University Osteopathic Medical Center. All five sites -- UOMC-Parks Hall in Athens, UOMC-O'Bleness in Athens, UOMC-Coolville, UOMC-Nelsonville Square, and UOMC-Doctors Hospital in Nelsonville -- will be closed. If you would like information about the University Osteopathic Medical Center or wish to make an appointment, please call 740-593-1700.

The university will reopen Monday, January 3. But you can watch this space over the weekend for Ohio University Y2K updates. All major systems have been tested and retested, so we don't anticipate any problems. Also, don't forget that the official beginning of Winter Quarter is January 4* and the residence halls will reopen January 2. Some university offices will be open January 2, as well. Click here for more information.

Those of you who will spend the long weekend in the Athens area may wish to take a look at the Fun Stuff page for information about area attractions and events.

Have a safe and enjoyable holiday.
