Athens Campus to Experience Power Outage

In
order to move overhead power lines
underground and increase electrical
capacity for Ohio University, a planned
power outage will affect buildings on the
main campus (excluding The Ridges) this
weekend. On December 18, outages will
be from 8 a.m. to midnight. In areas
served by emergency generators, Facilities
Management staff will assure systems are
running properly throughout the
outage.
In
addition, a second outage will occur on
December 24 from 9 a.m. to noon for some
buildings.
Because
communication hubs across campus use
electricity, telephone service may be
affected. Also, the Ohio University Web
site will be unavailable all day December
18 and from 9 a.m. to noon on December
24.
