Men's Basketball Kicks Off 'Coaches vs.
Cancer 3-Point
Attack'
Ohio
University men's basketball coach Larry
Hunter will kick off the 1999-2000 Coaches
vs. Cancer 3-Point Attack campaign on
Saturday, Dec. 18. There will be a kickoff
press conference at 6:30 p.m. in the Rohr
Room of the Convocation Center, followed
by a presentation at halftime of the men's
basketball game vs. Toledo.
The
Coaches vs. Cancer 3-Point Attack unites
basketball coaches and fans with local
units of the American Cancer Society. The
program combines the pledges of Bobcat
fans with the number of three-point field
goals made by the Bobcat team to raise
money for the local chapter of the
American Cancer Society. You can
participate by completing a pledge card
designating how much you will donate per
three-point field goal successfully
completed. Pledge cards will be available
at all remaining Bobcat Basketball games
and can be dropped off at the Ohio
Athletics Ticket Office. You can complete
a pledge card at any time during the
basketball season. At the end of the
season, Intercollegiate Athletics will
announce how many three-point field goals
were completed, and you make your
donation.
Last
season, contributions from the 3-Point
Attack raised $7,590.15 to fight cancer.
In 1998-99, Ohio Bobcat fans raised the
most money among the 12 college basketball
teams that participated in the state of
Ohio.
