Halloween Basics
Students
who live in the residence halls will
notice a few differences this weekend;
like strangers, wristbands, and the
occasional stray ghost. Don't be
frightened; it's only Halloween in
Athens.
As
security measures enacted last year
resulted in less vandalism and a generally
safer environment for the students, the
university will keep the same measures in
place this year. They include:
- Students
living in the Residence Halls will be
limited to one preregistered
guest
- Wristbands
will be used to identify guests and
hall residents for easy access to
buildings
- Parking
on campus will be
restricted
to those with Ohio University-issued
parking tags
Other
things you should know:
- Don't
bother trying to drive uptown -- Court
Street between President and Union
Streets, and the southern half of West
Union Street will be closed to
motorists Saturday at 8 a.m. The rest
of Court Street north of State Street,
Mill Street between Court and College
streets, and all of Union Street
between Congress and College streets
will close at 3 p.m. All streets listed
above will reopen at 3 a.m.
Sunday.
- See
the Fun
Stuff
page
for a list of different events going on
this weekend.
- And
don't forget to set your clocks back
one hour at 2 a.m. Sunday.
