Student Organizations Sponsor Red Cross
Blood Drive In Honor of Bryce
Chesser
The
Ohio University Mortar Board Senior
National Honor Society and Alpha Phi Omega
service fraternity are sponsoring an
American Red Cross blood drive on February
2 and 3 from 12 noon to 6 p.m. at the Ohio
University Jefferson Hall Library on the
East Green.
The
blood drive is being organized in honor of
Bryce Chesser, a 3-yr-old New Marshfield
youth diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a form
of childhood cancer, this past June.
Bryce
is being treated by oncologists at
Children's Hospital in Columbus and has
undergone chemotherapy, radiation and four
surgeries.
According
to Lindsay Levenson, Campus Blood Drive
Coordinator and President of the Mortar
Board Senior National Honor Society, the
two-day blood drive is targeting students,
faculty and staff with a goal of 170
pints. Appointments are required for this
blood drive.
*The
Gilham Frank VFW Auxiliary #8804 will
sponsor a separate blood drive in honor of
Bryce Chesser for the New Marshfield
community on Saturday, March 4 from 9 a.m.
to 3 p.m. at the Waterloo Community
Center, 3991 Old St. Route 56. To schedule
