It's Official: Ohio University is A-OK for
Y2K
Yesterday
we reported a smooth transition into the
Year 2000 for Ohio University. The last
thing that had to be checked were the
TRIPS software and a few other
supplemental software packages.
Well,
the student registration system,
TRIPS,
is working exactly as it should and there
are no problems to report with any
university software packages. TRIPS will
be available today from noon to 10 p.m.
Call TRIPS at 597-3006 or 800-759-3006.
Students can use TRIPS to:
- Register
for classes (add/drop/replace)
- Listen
to your schedule with time and location
- Listen
to your schedule WITHOUT time and
location
- Listen
to your grades and GPA information from
your most recently completed
quarter
Students,
the residence halls are scheduled to open
this morning at 9 a.m. (but the dining
halls will be closed until breakfast on
Monday, January 3).
Just
to recap Y2K news from the rest of campus,
Facilities Management reports no problems
with the central climate control system,
and spot checks on campus buildings found
no problems. Computer Services reports
that all mainframe computer systems
handled the rollover to 2000 without a
problem and all primary computer software
programs (i.e. payroll, the Student
Information System, CUFS) are working
perfectly.
Please
travel safely, and we'll see you
soon.
