OHIO
UNIVERSITY CITED IN THREE CATEGORIES IN KAPLAN NEWSWEEK
COLLEGE CATALOG
ATHENS,
Ohio -- Ohio University has been identified by guidance
counselors across the nation as being a best value for your
money and for offering excellent extracurricular activities,
according to the Kaplan Newsweek College Catalog
2000.
The
catalog, available in bookstores in July, lists Ohio
University in three categories: schools with the best range
of extracurricular activities, schools representing the best
value for the money and schools that are "hidden treasures,"
colleges or universities that offer an excellent education
but aren't as renowned as schools in the Ivy League.
The guide
is one of several Kaplan Books offering advice on education
and was compiled by the staff of Kaplan Educational Centers
following a survey of about 4,500 guidance
counselors.
"Guidance
counselors have such a wealth of information and they send
hundreds of students to colleges all the time," said Laura
Sigman, public relations manager for Kaplan Books. "What
they perceive is important because it affects where students
go."
This is
the first time Kaplan Books has conducted a survey of
guidance counselors for the annual publication, which
includes information on more than 1,000 U.S. colleges and
universities.
