Ohio
University Theater's 2001-2002 Season
Welcome to Ohio
University Theater!
Director Paul C.
Costagno declared that this year the School
of Theater
will be Incognito. Each of the season's plays will feature
mistaken or concealed identity, making for a spectacular spectacle of
mystery and mayhem.
The 2001-2002
mainstage season includes six plays beautifully produced in three
theaters on College Street, a dynamic season of Lab productions, the
Seabury Quinn Jr., Playwrights' Festival and weekly Lunchbag
seminar.

Upcoming
Performances:
- Spring
Quarter
-
- Goodnight
Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet): May 1
thru 4 and 8 thru 11 at 8 p.m.; May 11 at 2 p.m. -- Elizabeth
Evans Baker Theater
- In this
exuberant comic "take" on Othello and Romeo &
Juliet, Constance Ledbelly, a drab and dusty academic,
deciphers a cryptic manuscript she believes to be the original
source for the tragedies, and is transported into the plays. With
an abundance of twists, fights, dances, seductions and wild
surprises, this play is an absolute joy of
theatricality.
- Written by
Ann-Marie McDonald. Directed Jennifer Vellenga, MFA (2002).
- Circus
Beckett: May 15 thru 18 and 22 thru 25
at 8 p.m.; May 25 at 2 p.m. -- Forum Theater
- Step right up!
Step right up! All the razzmatazz of the circus meets one of the
greatest playwrights of the 20th century. Samuel Beckett doesn't
always have to be dark and heavy. Experience the lighter side of
Beckett, the great lover of gags, cross-talk, comic business,
Chaplin, Laurel and Hardy, and Buster Keaton. Here in glorious
color is an evening of his short masterpieces including Play,
Footfalls, Come & Go, Act Without Words, Rockaby and
more.
- Written by
Samuel Beckett. Directed by Andrew Manley.
Special
Events:
- Laboratory

and a friend.
