AAUW’s Mission

AAUW advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, and research.
Since 1881, AAUW  has been the nation’s leading voice promoting education and equity for women and girls.
We have a nationwide network of nearly 100,000 members, 1,000 branches, and 500 college/university institution partners. AAUW helps breaks through educational and economic barriers so that all women have a fair chance.

Athens Branch of AAUW

Founded in 1927, the Athens Branch of AAUW has a long and proud history.
We fund the Edith A. Wray Scholarship for an undergraduate woman from Athens County who is attending Ohio University, and we offer scholarships for local middle school girls to attend Be WISE Camp.

This year, AAUW Athens is proud to present Tech Savvy, a day-long STEM career conference for middle school girls and their parents. Tech Savvy will be held Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Ohio University.  Click here for more information and the registration form.
