About Black Praxis
After a hiatus of several years, Black Praxis, a refereed scholarly periodical published by the Department of African American Studies, Ohio University, is returning. In its present iteration, Black Praxis will be an on-line, free-access, peer-reviewed journal.

The journal will consider for publication articles, criticism, essays, reviews, and other writings that speak to questions of interdisciplinary Black Diaspora and black transnational studies.Welcome are work in such areas of critical inquiry as anthropology, history, law, literary studies, music, photography, plastic arts, political science, and sociology. The editor particularly welcomes multidisciplinary and emergent scholarship, including work in activist, cultural, poverty, and visual culture studies.

In addition to a commitment to publish diverse scholarship in African American studies, Black Praxis now serves as the journal of the Claude McKay Society, with the objective of regularly bringing out an issue devoted to the study of McKay, Harlem Renaissance, interwar period, early to mid-twentieth-century Caribbean, black radical, black queer, and transnational studies.
