Amanda Remnant, formerly the CAP Graduate Assistant, returns to the AAC as the new Tutor Services Coordinator.  Amanda is finishing up her master’s degree in College Student Personnel, which she will complete by the end of this academic year.  As the Tutor Services Coordinator Amanda works with Supplemental Instruction, Tutoring Services, CAP, and provides academic advising.

Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Amanda came to Ohio University as a first-generation college student in 1999 and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education.  Her undergraduate experiences, as well as her year of service as an AmeriCORPS worker, increased her interests in support services, particularly for first-generation and under-represented students.

Amanda met her husband, Adam, as a freshman at OU and they have lived in Athens for over nine years.  Adam is a musician, whose band started in Athens eight years ago and was recently signed to a record label.  Though Amanda does not consider herself a trained musician, she does enjoy playing the guitar and singing.  She also likes gardening, cooking, reading, and hanging out with her two dogs.
